Former cop turned to private detective, Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) was recruited by the mayor of New York City, Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe), to investigate his unfaithful wife, Cathleen (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
Taggart took the job, but when Paul Andrews (Kyle Chandler), the man that involved with Cathleen, was killed, he realized that he was caught up in something much bigger and dangerous. Nonetheless, Hostetler makes Taggart did not give up, he threatened to expose the dark past of private detective.
